"Captain Serious" is well into his second decade in the NHL but still has the tremendous leadership skills, hockey sense and vision that made him one of the league's elite two-way players during the 2010s. He is big enough to handle himself in traffic, responsible in his own zone and excellent on face-offs. He is also one of the NHL's all-time best in shootouts. Is productive but not an elite point producer, and can go into occasional scoring slumps. However, he compensates for any lack of scoring with his overall game. Injuries and illness are becoming greater factors with age.
